Janja Garnbret is on Fire With Big Sends

Over the past two weeks, Janja Garnbret has climbed L’Oppio dei Climbers V14, Trono V13, and flashed Pure Dreaming 5.14+ in Arco.

“The boulder that made me realize I should really take my chalk bag,” said Garnbret. “I’m glad to finish it quickly! Also stopped by Il trono [V13]. Gave it a good flash go, didn’t work out but send it 2nd go!”

Garnbret, born March 12, 1999, in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia, is the greatest competition climber of all time. Starting at age seven on local walls, she exploded onto the scene at 16, winning her first World Cup in 2015. By 2019, she swept all bouldering World Cups and claimed triple gold at the World Championships in lead, bouldering, and combined—unprecedented feats.

In 2021, she became the first Olympic women's climbing gold medalist in Tokyo. Defending her title in Paris 2024, she now holds two golds, Slovenia's most successful Summer Olympic haul. With 49 World Cup wins and 10 World Championship golds as of 2025, Garnbret is now focused on hard rock climbing.
