Eva Hammelmüller ticks Allez Baba 5.14b

Eva Hammelmüller, fresh off sending two 9a routes this spring, has ticked off Allez Baba 5.14b at Bayreuther Hütte.

Eva said: “Super fun boulder in the lower section with great holds and awesome moves higher up! Sent on my third go. After a rough performance on the final route at nationals, a day of rock climbing with friends was the perfect reset. Sending Allez Baba on my third attempt and flashing Hyäne made for an epic day in the mountains!"

Hammelmüller, born May 2, 2000, in Haag, Austria, holds the title of Austrian national champion in the Olympic combined event and climbed her first 5.14+ route, Tunnelblick, in November 2020.

Hammelmüller graduated from Stiftsgymnasium Seitenstetten in 2018 and now studies English and sports education at the University of Innsbruck. She serves as a sports soldier in the Austrian Armed Forces’ sports center and trains with the national team at the Innsbruck Climbing Center under coaches Kilian Fischhuber, Katharina Saurwein, and Hannes Brunner.

Hammelmüller began climbing at age six, supported by her hometown, which also produced climbers like Jessica Pilz and Laura Stöckler. By eight, she entered competitions, winning two gold medals in the Youth A category at the 2016 European Championships and the overall lead title in the Youth European Cup. In 2020, she earned silver in lead and bronze in bouldering at the Austrian Championships.

Her 2024 achievements include a 5.14d, Hades, and multiple top-15 World Cup finishes. Sponsored by Vibram, Petzl, and The North Face, she balances competition and outdoor climbing.
